The need for all follower’s of Christ to put on the full Armor of God, each and every day!
The Apostle Paul tells us in Ephesians 6:10-20 to, “Be strong in the Lord.” He communicates a critical principle for responding to spiritual warfare through a detailed metaphor … listing protective & offensive gear used by Roman soldiers.
Once we recognize our adversary is literally not against flesh and blood, we will be better prepared to effectively ‘wage war’ with the spiritual forces of wickedness in the supernatural places.
The first two (of 6) elements are found here in Ephesians 6:14,
“Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness.”
The belt of truth represents a dynamic that sets believers apart from those who are living for this world. Once we’ve become sanctified and have the Holy Spirit within us, we’ll be able to avoid being deceived by the schemes of our adversary the devil.
The body armor of God’s righteousness is the righteousness of Christ, and is not based on our good works! Rather, it’s imputed by God and received by faith … which guards our hearts and sets us free from the accusations and charges of Satan, who is known as the ‘father of lies.’
Let’s look at the final four elements in our next post.
