As long as we’re still breathing, we need a plan for how we’ll respond to the daily spiritual warfare we’re sure to face
It is possible to live in this world and not be of it! However, our adversary the devil is relentless and our ‘battle plan’ needs to be executed moment-by-moment by disciplining our minds.
The Apostle Paul says in Romans 12:1-2,
“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
If we fail to recognize our daily battles of living in this world are not against flesh and blood, but with unseen spiritual forces … our enemy has already won.
The Apostle Paul wisely warns us that as followers of Christ we are constantly facing spiritual warfare. And he gives us our ‘marching orders’ here in 2 Corinthians 10:5,
“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
God has provided us with the ‘Sword of the Spirit” which is the Bible, and may we do our part by literally picking up our sword daily in preparation for each and every attack!
