Disappointment is part of everyone’s life … and oftentimes on a daily basis

However, for those who know the Lord and have put their trust completely in Him for everything … crossing over from being disappointed to becoming discouraged or demoralized, is a choice.

Even through very challenging circumstances, Abraham never lost hope of God’s promise to him.

Romans 4:18-20 says,

“Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God.”

Satan is relentless on trying to win our soul and from keeping us from trusting in Jesus. One of his most effective tools is trying to get us to become discouraged. However, once we have the Holy Spirit within us, we don’t have to fall for his lies.

1 John 4:-5 says,

“This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world. You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

Leaning heavily into God’s Word and His promises and His Holy Spirit through every disappointing circumstance will help defeat our adversary every time … because Jesus is alive and He’s always with us!!
